On an ordinary day God asks an ordinary Christian to do an extraordinary thing. Ananias didn't ask for this assignment....he didn't want this assignment....he wasn't expecting an assignment like this. This was BIG!!! This was SCAREY!!! I'm sure Ananias immediately thought something like this: "Saul--why he's the guy who goes around killing Christians!!! He just had Stephen stoned-to-death!" Ananias, like many of us do when God requests we do something out-of-the-ordinary (out of our comfort zone), was quick to remind God why he can't or shouldn't do it.
The personal word given to Ananias was this: "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake." The message he delivered to Saul was: "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." [See: Acts 9:10-19]
BE READY....GET PREPARED...God may give you "a message" to deliver! Would you go? Or would you make excuses, whimp-out, or rationalize why you shouldn't/couldn't go?
Remember the movie (and TV show) "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE?" The assignment always appeared impossible, but those it was assigned to carried out the mission. Remember, "With God ALL things are possible" and "I can do all things through Christ Jesus...". That's what the Word tells us!
If we walk in FAITH (casting down fear), He can work miracles through us.....we can be MESSENGERS OF MIRACLES!!! We must do our part (what He's called us to do) and He will do His part. If we did our part more often, we'd see many more miracles!
ARE YOU READY? GET SET....GO!!! Go when He sends you; go where He tells you. Run the race He's set before you....and FINISH the work He's called you to do!
